EA SPORTS Active 5K Challenge

Posted on Sep 18, 2009 by Active Girl

So you’ve done the 30 day challenge. You may have completed it a few times at this point. EA SPORTS Active More Workouts is hitting the shelves in mid-November so let’s get ready by taking your journey towards better health and fitness to the next level. It’s time for the EA SPORTS Active 5K Challenge.

There is no specific 5K that we are asking you to participate in. We will have Community Leaders who will be choosing a run in their communities between Oct. 17th and Nov. 15th so you have time to train. Our EA SPORTS Active resident trainer, Gerard, has provided you with a great training program that includes a mix of outdoor runs/walks and workouts using EA SPORTS Active that will help you prepare for the event.

Participating in an event like this is a great way to engage with others in your community and that’s one of the most important things when it comes to Active – achieving a strong sense of community. Participants will receive the benefits of a personal trainer, the opportunity to train with a group and a commemorative gift that recognizes their efforts to get active. Whether your goal is to run your fastest 5K ever or to simply participate and finish the event, this is truly something that anyone can do.

If you would like to participate in the EA SPORTS Active 5K Challenge, please sign up here: easportsactive5kchallenge.eventbrite.com

Once you have signed up, we will hook you up with a Community Leader in your area. Please see below if you are interested in becoming a Community Leader.
I cannot express how awesome this is going to be. I have so much confidence in the Active community and know full well that you guys can not only do this, but that you will take it by storm.

Let’s get going!

Community Leaders

We are currently searching for Community Leaders.  A Community Leader is someone who is motivated and wants to lead a group of challengers through the EA SPORTS Active 5K Challenge.

What does a Community Leader need to do? Here are some guidelines:
-   Choose a 5km run in your area between Oct. 17th and Nov. 15th
•   runningintheusa.com
•   if you cannot find a run in your area, or would like to plan your own run you can try using Mapmyrun
-   It is not necessary that you have previously completed an EA SPORTS Active 30 day Challenge but you should have experience with the product
-   we would like permission to post your name and email to our website so that those in your community can contact you and you can tell them which run you are suggesting you all do
-   we will send you t-shirts for your group to wear during your run
-   we suggest that you keep in contact your group members
•   keep them motivated
•   host training sessions
>   use meetup/tweetup to host these sessions
•   take pictures
•   name your group
•   send in a write-up how the group did and how the experience was

Sounds fun! I will be participating in a second Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure as my participation in your AE Sports Active 5K Challenge.
