6 Week Challenge - Monica Brady's Week 1 Diary Blog

I think that's a perfect way to start this blog post. When my "personal trainer" said this at the end of my workout, I nearly teared up. Ok, so maybe I did. It just seemed so fitting after a really tough workout and it stuck in my mind and it was like it was put in the program just for me...
A year ago, I had no idea that I'd be doing this 6 week challenge with EA SPORTS Active. Heck I had no idea I would've done the first 30 day challenge either. I was overweight, out of shape, and just plain frustrated with my body. To be honest, I still am…The only difference now is that I'm doing something about it! I'm working my tush off to get back in shape. Sure, life gets in the way sometimes, and it's hard to keep going, but you just have to pick up where you left off and make the effort. I'm learning that right now.
I work from home, I blog, I take care of my girls, I forget that I'm supposed to exercise sometimes because I get so wrapped up in everything else I have to do. I will be completely honest, I've skipped weeks of workouts before, and then I realize I'm never going to get anywhere if I don't keep it up. I've set alerts on my iPhone and computer to make sure that I don't get too caught up in anything and get up and moving. It's sad. I know.
Last year, I made a New Year's Resolution to lose at least 50 pounds. Did I keep it? Not really. I think I've made that resolution so many times. This year though, I started my journey, and I'm going to keep it going! 2010 is going to be a great year for my physically, mentally, emotionally. 2009 started everything for me, now it's up to me to keep it up!

Week one of the EA SPORTS Active More Workouts 6 week challenge was awesome. I have already burned over 1200 calories, and picked up a good amount of trophies. I've exceeded my projected calories in all but one workout, and sweat more than I've sweat in a long time. I'm sore in muscles I forgot I had, and in some I didn't even know I had. I've also tried out some new exercises that are part of the program… and loved them! I think I've figured out which ones are going to be the most challenging ones too. Those are the ones I'm going to need to master to feel complete! I've already tried out the step aerobics too. I'm in love!
Thanks for checking in with me… I can't wait to see what my stats are next week!
