1. It’s time to work out! You are most likely to be decked out in…
- The latest in fitness fashion! Don’t get too hung up on your outfit looking just right. It can be motivating to wear the right gear for the right moves—but make sure the workout and its results remain the focus, and not whether your fitness gear is completely lint free.
Oh, and make sure you complete your Active Lifestyle and Fitness survey everyday. It is part of the promise of a better you! - What I slept inIt’s important to make fitness a part of your routine. Part of that, can be the transition from what you relax in, to actual workout clothes.
If you dress the part, you’ll feel the part, and once your head is in the game, you’re already half way there!

2. What’s your regular chore schedule?
- I feel like I never stop doing chores.Sometimes, chores can seem to take over your life. But there are plenty of ways to work good choices into your daily routine.
Throw on some music that you love and instead of grinding your chores out, fit some reps in between tasks, get them done while dancing, or whatever adds a spring to your step. Remember you can use the “Other Activity” category in your Active journal to record any other exercise you\'ve done today. - What’s a chore schedule?Must be nice! If your daily chore routine is pretty light, it can be great to use some of that time for a longer workout, that includes more stretching and yoga.
Remember you can use the “Other Activity” category in your Active journal to record any other exercise you\'ve done today so that your progress is always being updated.

3. How active are you during the day?
- Does typing count? My fingers get a great workout.Busy days seem to be the norm don’t they? It can be a real challenge to balance work and working out.
It’s important to set aside some time that’s just for you and, did you know, there are all kinds of small stretches and exercises you can do at your desk to stay limber for when it’s time to head home and hit a good set of Alternating Bicep Curls!
And remember, fitness goes way beyond completing your workouts. Keep track of other activities during the day and record them in your Active journal. - I try to bike to work, or at least go for a walk during my lunch hour. It’s great to squeeze a little more physical activity into everything you do. Every activity burns more calories than sitting!
Taking the stairs and walking at lunch are old favorites, but how about stretching during conference calls or, if you’re at home, taking the dog for an extra long walk. No dog? Borrow the neighbor’s dog!

4. Do you get active with your friends and family?
- Not too often (does wrangling the kids count?)Getting the whole family involved, or even a group of friends, is a great way to stay motivated. Try hiking, or using Active together, to see how quickly you’ll have a team rooting for you.
Also, you’ll be setting a great example for the kids. It’s been proven that children that don’t exercise much at an early age are a lot more likely to face health issues down the line.
Even with just 15 minutes to spare you can get them moving with an Active Trainer Workout to help them make exercise a habit. - We try to get together once a week for an activityA good way to keep a group focused on getting the physical activity they need is to keep it fun.
Don’t do the same thing all the time; change it up, with different hiking paths, some supervised climbing, and a solid series of reps from Active.
By working out with friends and family, you’ll keep yourself surrounded by people on the same mission and avoid temptations to slack off your routine.
